Schedule

This schedule is still a concept and work in progress. The final schedule will be published in time for the 2027 ACT Bootcamp.

Program

Program

In this workshop, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the psychological flexibility model and build the skills to apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with competence and confidence. Since the program is designed and led by ACT originator Dr. Steven C. Hayes, it is uniquely suited for both beginners and experienced professionals. You will explore the latest developments in the field directly from the source, ensuring your practice is at the absolute forefront of the model.

Over the course of four days, Drs. Steven C. Hayes, Robyn D. Walser, and Gijs Jansen will walk you step-by-step through the theory and practice of ACT, featuring trainer demonstrations, experiential exercises, practice sessions, and feedback from your peers.

Schedule

Each day begins at 09:00 and concludes at 16:30, with plenty of time for coffee breaks and lunch. On days 1 through 3, you are also welcome to join our optional evening sessions (17:00 – 19:00), which focus specifically on live demonstrations.

The final day-to-day schedule will be shared shortly before the start of the BootCamp. In any case, the following learning objectives will be central to the program:

Top 10 Learning objectives
  1. Master the Hexaflex Model: Deepen your understanding of the six core processes of psychological flexibility and learn how to apply them integratively to help clients move forward.
  2. Harness the Therapeutic Relationship: Develop an authentic ACT stance and learn to use the interpersonal dynamic between you and your client as a powerful tool for change.
  3. Navigate Resistance and Stagnation: Gain specific strategies to apply core flexibility processes when working with “stuck” clients or complex clinical challenges.
  4. Facilitate Creative Hopelessness: Master the art of creating space for the reality that old coping strategies aren’t working, opening the door to new, effective possibilities.
  5. Integrate Openness, Awareness, and Engagement: Learn how to guide clients in opening up to difficult experiences (defusion/acceptance), staying present, and taking action based on their values.
  6. Pivot Fluidly in Session: Develop the ability to detect flexibility-relevant material in the moment and shift between processes based on your client’s immediate needs.
  7. Move Beyond Diagnosis: Understand why a contextual approach and “idionomic data” (the unique individual) are more effective than relying solely on generic protocols or DSM labels.
  8. Apply Network Modeling: Learn to use network analysis for case conceptualization, mapping the psychological, biological, and social nodes that influence your client’s well-being.
  9. Build Values-Based Habits: Guide clients in clarifying their deepest values and translating them into concrete, sustainable behavioral goals.
  10. Cultivate Compassionate Wisdom: Develop the skills to foster compassion and wisdom in both yourself and your clients as a foundation for meaningful living.
